Summer will be here before you know it, and we plan to celebrate the season with some music and literature! Join us at Avid on Saturday, May 17, 6:30-7:30 PM. Frankie Brown, Sam Thomas, and Rag Doll provide the entertainment.
Frankie Brown writes, sells and hoards books in Athens, GA, a funky little town famous for its music scene. But, as anyone who’s ever heard the fruits of Frankie’s musical endeavors can attest, her talents lie elsewhere. She’s turned her creative energy to crafting stories and can typically be found hunched over a keyboard in her neighborhood coffee shops.
Sam Thomas studied creative writing in Ireland and England and earned a Masters from Oxford University, UK. Sam’s work is published in The Threepenny Review, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Stop Sharpening Your Knives, and is forthcoming in The Harlequin. She lives in Athens, Georgia.
Rag Doll is a new Athens band playing in the folk/Americana tradition and consisting of Megan Cole, Matt Dyson, and Abel Klainbaum.
