We’re thrilled to announce our next New Town Revue, which will be held Friday, June 12 @ 6:30 at Avid Bookshop. We’ve got a great lineup- Joni Tevis and Kristen Gleason will read and Athens all-star Don Chambers will provide the music.

Formerly a park ranger, factory worker, and seller of cemetery plots, Joni Tevis is the author of the acclaimed book of essays, The Wet Collection. Her nonfiction has been published in Oxford American, the Bellingham Review, Shenandoah, the Pushcart Prize anthology, and Orion. She teaches literature and creative writing at Furman University, and lives in Greenville, South Carolina.

Kristen Gleason (fiction) has lived in California, Montana, and northern Norway. Her fiction and poetry have appeared online and in print, most recently in Fence and the Gettysburg Review. She lives in Athens, Georgia with Lola and Neil.

Don Chambers is a musician from Athens, GA.  He was previously in the band Vaudeville. His music is “unique mix of banjo-driven rock, folk, punk, bluegrass, gospel, gut-bucket blues and field hollers”. He has released albums featuring his backing band, GOAT, as well as under his own name.
